SAFEX International Membership

SAFEX is a Switzerland-based non-profit making association of manufacturers of explosives and pyrotechnic products founded in 1954 with the aim of protecting persons and property against the risks of this industry, preventing accidents by various activities including audits, advisories, workshops, conferences, expert panels, and the analysis and investigation of accidents.

 

Current membership of SAFEX is over 110 companies operating in 46 countries worldwide. EXSA has been and is an active member of SAFEX since its foundation and the General Manager, of EXSA S.A., engineer Karl Maslo Luna, is a member of the Board of Governors of SAFEX as representative for Latin America.


External Audits

As part of its safety policy, EXSA S.A. has developed a program of external audits conducted by EXSAR CONSULTING, as Scottish firm led by the world renowned international expert in explosives safety, Mr. Andy Begg.

 

The external audits are conducted once a year at the manufacturing facilities of EXSA S.A. and at mining site operations.


Environmental Management System


EXSA S.A. has implemented an Environmental Management System that allows it to increase its productivity levels under strict respect for the environment.

COMMUNITY/ SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY


As part or its social responsibility policy, EXSA works in a close relationship with all the communities surrounding its operations nationwide.

 

The commitment of EXSA with these communities has materialized in donations that have allowed improving the quality of life and the education of the people in these communities, for instance.
