HISTORY
1954 EXSA S.A. is incorporated under the name Explosivos S.A. with Cerro de Pasco Corp., Poudreries Reunies de Belgique, Dynamit Nobel A.G., and others, founding members.
1956 Started operations in Lurín, South of Lima, Peru, under the most stringent safety standards and state- of-the-art production technology, as well as a high standard of technical assistance consistent with the times.
1992 Started operations at the explosive Emulsions plant in Lurín.
1995 Explosivos S.A. changes its corporate name to EXSA S.A.
1997 Became a self-sufficient supplier of nitric acid upon the starting of operations of a plant in Lurín.
1997 Strengthened its operations with the second explosive Emulsions plant located in Sama - Las Yaras, Tacna, near the southern border of Peru.
2000 The EXSA Blasting Technological Center (CTVE) is formed, to train end-users of its explosives and blasting accessories in the proper and safe handling thereof.
2000 Started dynamite exports to the North American market.
2001 Started its internal expansion by the merger with the explosives manufacturer Química Sol S.A., the manufacturing plant of which is located in Tacna.
2002 Strengthened its growth in the provinces of Peru upon starting operations in its explosive Emulsions plant in Salaverry, Trujillo.
2003 Granted the ISO 9001 certificate: version 2000, for its Quality Management System in its Explosives and Welding Products divisions.
2004 Signed a letter of intent with Orica Mining Services Ltd., world leader in explosives and blasting accessories and services, to jointly develop the blasting accessories business in Peru.
2004 Started operating its Exel non-electrical detonator assembly and assembled detonators plant under license of Orica Mining Services Ltd.
2004 Granted the ISO 14001 certificate for its Environmental Management System.
2006 Implemented the ERP/SAP software.
2006 Granted the BASC certification of its Safety System in International Trade.
2007 Spinoff of its Welding Division, which merged with and into Valores Lurín S.A.C., and becomes Soldexsa S.A.
2007 Granted the OHSAS 18001 certification of its Occupational Safety and Health System.
